Municipal Support

The Winter Public Library is jointly owned by the Town and Village of Winter.  The library is located within the village, and the village provides in-kind services to the library including bookkeeping services, trash removal and some general maintenance.  Both the town and village appoint members to the library board. The township provides some monetary support to the library and is also available to provide advice regarding building maintenance and construction projects.

County Support

Sawyer County is the main source of funding for the library.  Sawyer County has long shown a strong sense of commitment to provide library services to all county residents and visitors to the area.

State Support

The library is a member of Northern Waters Library Service, which serves the public libraries of eight counties in northern Wisconsin. Find out more about NWLS at : nwls.wislib.org. The library is also a member of the Merlin Consortium of northern Wisconsin libraries sharing resources through the Merlin library catalog.
